City Retreat B.V. has let furnished apartments in Amsterdam since 2012 and, since 2026, in Rotterdam. Our tenants are expats, relocating employees and professionals who need a comfortable, reliable home. So every apartment is fully furnished and ready to move into, with utilities and Wi-Fi included in the rent. You rent on an indefinite residential tenancy agreement, with one calendar month's notice after the initial period and BRP registration at the address.

Move-in ready apartments
Every apartment is fully furnished and equipped for day-to-day living from the day you move in. Utilities, Wi-Fi and kitchen essentials are already set up, so you can unpack and start work the same day.
One monthly rent
We charge one amount a month, and it covers the rent, the furniture, gas, water, electricity and internet. So there are no separate contracts to arrange while you are still finding your way around a new city. Agree a four-month initial period and your monthly rent is 10% lower for the whole tenancy.
Verified homes, no agency fees
Every apartment is inspected before it is offered, so what you see is what you get. There is no agency commission, no viewing queue and no Dutch income requirement to meet. Budget-conscious tenants can start with our studio apartments in Amsterdam West.
Local support you can rely on
Our Amsterdam-based team helps before, during and after move-in, with responsive support for maintenance, logistics, registration questions and everyday practicalities.

Managing Director
James founded City Retreat in 2012 and leads strategy, partnerships and long-term growth. Based between Amsterdam and the UK, he focuses on giving tenants a reliable furnished home while building lasting relationships with property owners and corporate clients.
Paul Beesley
Property Manager
Paul oversees apartment standards, key handovers and landlord relationships, making sure each property is ready and presentable before every move-in.
Tom Romeo
Property Manager
Tom supports the day-to-day running of the portfolio, coordinating operations, repairs and tenant support so tenancies run without friction.
Jorge Baca
Operations Manager
Jorge manages operational delivery across the portfolio, covering cleaning schedules, service quality and property readiness between tenancies.
